The Sit Room
I illustrated 43 portraits for The Sit Room, written by David Scheffer, published by Oxford University Press. Very exciting! The Sit Room details 3 years of decision-making, policy, and deliberations involved in the US intervention in the Bosnian War. David Scheffer served on the Deputies Committee of the National Security Council during the conflict, and later as the first American Ambassador at Large for War Crimes Issues.

Party On.
Sometimes it's a cold and rainy night and after reading 421 articles about melting glaciers, power gropers, war pigs and grifters, it seems like a good idea to use a pocket of free time to create an impactful visual statement about something IMPORTANT. Instead you create this piece of disco fluff and realize that you're mentally exhausted and really just want to watch old Destiny's Child music videos.

Poster
I created this poster for the Chicago Immigrant and Refugee Resource Fair at Mather High School. I was so excited to make this artwork. With the exception of descendants of Native Americans and people who were dragged here against their will, aren't we all immigrants? New Immigrants are the life-blood of this diverse country. They risk their lives to come here. They give and do not take away.

American Illustration 34
My portrait of John Waters for Nylon Guys magazine was selected for American Illustration 34. This illustration, art directed by Chris Segedy, accompanied an interview with John Waters about his latest book, "Carsick." I dig John Waters, a creative visionary. This project was enjoyable to work on, especially because research included re-watching his films and reading "Role Models."
